Prepfully homepage

Prepfully is a popular interview prep platform for candidates who want to land a job at top tech and consulting companies. If you don't mind paying a premium for their coaching sessions, it’s a decent choice for booking a mock interview, resume review, or career coaching with an expert.

Below, we give an overview of what you should know about Prepfully, how much its expert coaching sessions cost, and whether people seem to think they're worth it.

Here’s an overview of what we’ll cover:

Let’s get started!

1. Prepfully services

Prepfully products

Before we go through the pros and cons of booking an expert coaching session on Prepfully, let’s first take a look at their primary services:

1.1 Mock interview session

Prepfully offers fully anonymous mock interview sessions with experts on their platform. Each mock interview session lasts for 60 minutes.

You can choose your coach anonymously or get Prepfully to make the match for you based on your needs.

To choose a coach, you can browse their anonymous profiles, which shows you the role and company a coach has worked for, plus a quick summary of their professional background and coaching experience. The profile also includes user reviews and the types of interviews they can help you with.

To get matched, you’ll be asked to fill in a form stating your target company and the topics you want to discuss. And then you’ll be asked to select your 5 preferred schedules.

Before confirming your session request, you have the option to attach your resume, the job description of the role you’re applying for, and any special requests.

1.2 Expert advice session

Aside from mock interviews, you can also book what Prepfully calls an “expert advice session”.  It’s a 60-minute free-flowing conversation with a coach where you get to choose topics you want insight on.

1.3 Resume review session

During a resume review session, your coach will review your resume the way your target company would.

Before your session, you’ll be asked to submit your current resume for your coach to review. You also have the option to send a few questions.

1.4 Free resources

Prepfully has free interview prep resources that you can use for practice. They have a question bank where you’ll find interview questions verified by users. The page also comes with an AI answer review tool which gives you feedback on your answers.

Prepfully question bank

The website also has comprehensive interview guides for various top companies and roles, and a mock interview library where you can directly watch the video mocks which are also on their YouTube channel.

2. Prepfully review (pros and cons)

The first thing to say is that Prepfully is completely legitimate and credible and is generally well-reviewed (it has a 4.8-star rating on TrustPilot). However, like any platform, it has its pros and cons. Here are some that we’ve found:

2.1 Prepfully pros

Anonymous coaching

Prepfully coaches

Prepfully offers anonymous coaching. Many find this feature comfortable, especially candidates who worry about their colleagues finding out they’re in an interview process.

Option to choose coach/get matched

What makes Prepfully unique is that it allows users to maintain anonymity while giving them the option to choose their coach or get matched by the platform based on their needs.

Flexible pricing

Prepfully coaches have the option to choose their own rates, ranging from $89 to $399, giving you plenty of options depending on your budget. If you book multiple sessions, you can get a bulk discounted rate.

ROI

Doing mock interviews with an expert from your target company helps you improve your interview performance in a way that just knocking out problems on Leetcode will not. And if you're going for a job at the likes of Google, Meta, or Amazon, spending a few hundred dollars on mock interviews is small change when put against the salary gains you stand to make.

2.2 Prepfully cons

Coach profile browsing

When browsing the anonymous coach profiles, you can only filter two ways: by role and target company (unlike on IGotAnOffer where you can browse by services offered and available schedule).

If you need to find a coach available as soon as possible, you’ll have to scroll through to find options with the “available ASAP” icon.

The coach bios also seem quite sparse, so it’s hard to get an idea of their experience and expertise areas.

Prices quite high

Prepfully offers a first-session 20% discount (you’ll have to link your LinkedIn profile to your account to get this) and bulk discounts for multiple sessions, but generally single sessions cost $199 up to $399 for experienced coaches.

Some coaches with no sessions and reviews offer services at $89 per session, but that can be quite a gamble if there’s no way to know how effective they are at coaching.

No full money-back guarantee

You can only get a full refund if you cancel a session. If afterwards, you don’t find the session useful or constructive, you’ll have to submit your refund request within 24 hours of the session.

In your refund request, you’ll be asked the specifics of why you think your session wasn’t helpful. You also have to state what you think the session was worth to you. For example, if you paid $100 for the session but think it was only worth $50, you’ll get $50 back.

3. Prepfully pricing

Prepfully coaches offer a range of pricing for their services. Some experienced coaches will charge from $199 up. This is a bit on the expensive side, especially when you consider that on a site like IGotAnOffer, you can often find the same coach or other coaches who've worked at Meta or Google for 10+ years for considerably less.

You will find a few experienced coaches on Prepfully that offer sessions for $119 to $149, but generally those that offer less expensive sessions (we’ve found some that charge $89 per session) have no reviews or completed sessions.

Prepfully offers a few ways you can get a discounted session. One is $20 off on your first session if you link your LinkedIn with your Prepfully account.

If you can refer a friend to Prepfully, you can also get $10 off. Finally, if you purchase multiple sessions, you can also get a bulk discount (depending on the number of sessions you get).

In some cases, Prepfully may charge VAT on top of the session fee. This depends on your residency, location and any applicable law, according to their Terms and Conditions page.

#LinkedIn resume coaches

Services: resume review
Pricing: upon request, huge variation
Reviews: Depends on which resume coach you choose
Coaching expertise: varies
Money-back guarantee: depends on the resume coach you choose
Pros vs Prepfully: less expensive, can accommodate a wide range of needs
Cons vs Prepfully: no anonymous option, no coach matching service

You probably don't think of LinkedIn as somewhere to go to when you're looking to buy a service. And in many ways, it's not very well set up for this. You have to message a coach rather than book them immediately, prices are often only available on request, etc. In other words, it's not a great user experience.

However, it's worth including in this list as a useful option due to the sheer range of recruiters, hiring managers, and resume coaches that you can get in touch with. Whatever industry, role, and location you're looking for, LinkedIn has pretty much got you covered.

(Tip: Add 'resume review' as a skill in the search bar to get people who will review your resume rather than offer to write it from scratch).

Check out our list of the best resume review services online.
