I was with Ernst&Young in New York.

I prepared 2-3 hours per week, for 6 months. During the first couple of months, I watched an online video course on case cracking, as well as case interviews on YouTube to familiarize myself with the process and methods. I then had three sessions with an IGotAnOffer coach, and cased 1-3 times a week with peers for the next 3 months.

Being told my third round would be my final round but then having to do a surprise fourth round with another Partner!

I was asked why I wasn't applying to EY, my previous employer, given that it is also a Big 4 and that I had worked there for 7 years prior. I was also not expecting the market sizing case given to me in my final round, as I had thought market sizing was usually for positions closer to entry-level.

Get comfortable with the case interview process and methods before attempting to do live practice cases. Otherwise, you'll be wasting you and your partner's time if you don't know what to do during case sessions. Also, apply to as many places as possible - even those you don't want to work at - so that you can get in "free" interview practice.
