What most excites you about your new job?

Where were you previously?

Senior SWE for B2B team at The Home Depot.

What was your preparation strategy?

I did about 20-30 hr/wk of prep for a month. I had already been working on leetcode style problems, answering 1 question per day to get into the habit. So my first week was spent practicing coding questions, after that I spent about 5 hr/wk on coding questions. System design & leadership principles took up the rest of the study time.

What was the hardest part of the whole process?

At first I felt a lot of stress, uncertainty, and doubt.

Did any of the interview questions stand out?

The coding questions weren’t particularly difficult compared to other companies. A lot of time was devoted to leadership principle questions.

What advice would you give to other candidates?

Schedule at least two sessions with IGAO coaches - one for system design questions and the other for leadership questions.
