I am a Senior Engineering Manager at Atlassian, and over the past 15 years I have led ML and search teams at Uber, Apple, Amazon and eBay. I have hired and grown hundreds of engineers, and I coach ICs, data scientists and managers to land AI and ML roles at top companies, excel in system design and behavioral interviews, and make the jump from IC to leadership.
I have interviewed over 1000 candidates and hired more than 100 across ML engineering, software engineering, applied science, and engineering management, from mid-level individual contributors through staff and manager roles. Most of that was at Atlassian, Uber, Apple, Amazon, and eBay, where I have run hiring loops, sat in...
I have screened well over a thousand resumes and hired more than 100 people at Atlassian, Uber, Apple, Amazon, and eBay, both as the hiring manager and as part of hiring committees. A recruiter gives your resume a few seconds. I know what happens in those seconds, and what...
I have made most of these moves myself. I started as an applied researcher on search ranking at eBay, became a tech lead at Amazon, moved into engineering management at Apple, and stepped up into senior leadership at Uber and now at Atlassian, where I run a 40-plus-person ML...
I have been on the other side of the offer more than 100 times. As the hiring manager at Atlassian, Uber, Apple, and Amazon, I am the one who sets the level, defends the number in comp review, and decides whether to go back and ask for more. I...
Most careers stall for reasons that have little to do with talent. The work is good, and nobody senior knows about it, or the promotion case never gets written the way a committee needs to read it, or one difficult stakeholder is quietly costing you a level.
I...
I teach what I have actually shipped: search and ranking systems, recommendations, information retrieval, and the modern agentic and RAG stack, including retrieval design, evaluation, and LLM-based labeling. Alongside that, the engineering around the models, such as experimentation and A/B design, offline and online metrics that do not lie...
Yes you can use credits with any coach.
Yes, unused credits can be refunded within 30 days of getting purchased. After 30 days the credits cannot be refunded anymore, but you can still use them at any point in the future.
If you do get a refund it will be corrected for the discount you initially got. As an example, imagine you have purchased 10 credits, and paid 10 x $48 = $480. If you end up only using 5 credits, we will refund you the difference between what you have paid ($480), and what you would have paid had you purchased 5 credits (5 x $50 = $250). So in this specific example we would refund: $480 - $250 = $230.
You can cancel or reschedule coaching sessions for free as long as you do so more than 24 hours before the start of your session.
Within 24 hours, it is not be possible to reschedule or cancel your session.
If you fail to attend a coaching session or are more than 15mins late, the session will be considered a "no show" and will be counted as having been used.
One hour might not seem like a lot. But coaches are used to making the most of the time. They’ll come ready to the session so you can cover the topics that are important to you and walk away with concrete next steps.
Coaches’ bios might look intimidating because some of them have worked at big companies and have senior titles. But they’re all genuinely interested in helping you out. They’re here for you, will show empathy, and do their best to help you achieve your goals.
If you aren’t satisfied with one of your coaching sessions for any reason, get in touch with us within 24h of the end of your session and you’ll be eligible for a refund. We refund up to 1 coaching session per user.
About ~25% of coaches on the platform have the SuperCoach badge. Every 3 months, we check if each coach meets the following criteria for the past year. If they do, they earn the SuperCoach badge for the next 3 months.
1. Maintain a 3% or less cancelation rate. SuperCoaches are required to have a cancelation rate of less than 3.0% of bookings they receive. No-shows also count towards the cancellation rate. Low cancellations mean clients can book with confidence.
2. Attain an average rating of 4.8 or higher. SuperCoaches are required to have a 4.80 or higher average overall rating based on reviews from clients over the past year. Clients can therefore expect an great experience when they book with a SuperCoach.
3. Complete 5 or more sessions over the past 12 months. SuperCoaches are required to complete at least 5 sessions over the past year. Clients know they'll be working with coaches who have helped people in similar situations to theirs in the past.
Unfortunately, there’s no set answer to that question as every situation is different. We recommend doing one or two sessions with a coach to get started. They’ll be able to give you an assessment of how many sessions you’ll need overall.
Coaches cost 2, 3, 4 or 5 credits per 1h coaching session.
Credits cost $50 to $40 per credit. The more you buy, the cheaper they get.
